Our Little Home Business
My name is Tracy, and my husband’s name is Moises. We have recently decided to venture into the world of selling artwork. I have been interested in pyrography, or wood burning, since I was much younger. My mom dug up an ancient piece of wood I made for her. Not too bad, right?
Since 1995, I have gotten slightly better at the art. However, my weakness has always been design. I am great at copying things, and even dabbled into semi-professional photography for a while (I got to use the best copy machine ever – just point and shoot and, boom! a wonderful copy of what I am looking at). But I was never good at creating from nothing. This is where my wonderful husband enters the picture. Ever since I’ve known him, he has been designing things. Whether it be a new hairstyle (a half mullet-ish look), clothing style (used a shawl as a tie), or even at one point a giant wall mural in our house (with the potential use of a bird, potenital because I said NO!) – some of his designs are a bit more eccentric than others, but with the proper direction, his designs can be pretty awesome. So he designs and draws, I do the computer work, trace it on, and then copy it. This time instead of a camera for my copier, I use a tool that gets so hot I need to wear a glove. Pyrography. The art of drawing with fire.
While most of the artwork you will see as of early 2019 is pyrography based, the art bug has gotten to us and we are experimenting with other media and creative ideas. So stay tuned, we have some exciting new projects to release this coming year!
